Between 2 February and 21 March, the Teatro de Madrid is hosting a new edition of Cartografías de la danza (Cartographies of Dance), a festival which has become an important benchmark for Madrid's dance offer, held for the eighth time this year. Today, the General Manager for Cultural Events, Manuel Lagos, accompanied by the Director of Teatro de Madrid, José Manuel Garrido, presented the programme of this cultural event which is comprised of various dance styles providing an overview of the choreography of today: classical ballet, neoclassical ballet, bolero school, flamenco, contemporary dance, hip hop, and more.

Goya award candidates such as Celda 211 (Cell 211), directed by Daniel Monzón; Los abrazos rotos (Broken Embraces), by Pedro Almodóvar, and Yo, también (Me Too) by Álvaro Pastor and Antonio Naharro, form part of the programme of the 30th Carabanchel Spanish Film Festival. The festival, which gathers the latest in the Spanish film industry, shall be held in the Yelmo Islazul cinemas (Calle de la Calderilla, 1) between 1 and 7 February.
François Legrand, in the Casa de Vacas
Since last Friday, the Casa de Vacas, in the Retiro Park, has been showcasing an exhibition on the French painter François Legrand. Under the title “El gesto y la luz” (Expression and light), the exhibition, which shall be held throughout February, gives a retrospective vision of this French artist, winner of the International Prix of Contemporary Art, Monte Carlo and various other prizes from the French Academy of Fine Arts. The exhibition is sponsored by the Madrid City Council, AXA Foundation, Volvo Spain, and the honorary sponsor, the French Embassy.
